What asset classes are used in a portfolio and in what proportion is the biggest determinant of investment return – more so than stock picking. CubicStone have an integrated process whereby we assess your financial position and risk appetite together with their investment expertise to come up with an appropriate asset allocation for you that allows us to construct the optimum portfolio for you. This process includes the formal investment advice process which many wealth managers now automate (some using what they call “Robo Advisers”) and/or consider as a necessary evil that must be done to satisfy the regulators. We, however, believe it is a very valuable exercise which helps understand what the client needs, and helps the client understand how his portfolio may perform. This is one of our main differentiators from many wealth managers.
